Ahi Tuna Poke Tacos
Ahi Tuna Poke Tacos
Serves 6
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
1 tbs Sesame oil
2 tbs Soy Sauce
1 small minced shallot
1 small minced jalapeño
2 tbs sesame seeds
1 tbs Gochujang
Juice of a lemon
2 lbs of high-quality Ahi Tuna
1 white onion
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
Sriracha mayo
Butter lettuce cups
Method:
Begin by mincing your shallot and jalapeño and add to a bowl. Only leave the seeds in if you want to make it extra spicy. Add the hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, lemon juice, and gochujang to the bowl. Mix to combine.
On a plastic cutting board, dice the tuna into 1/4-1/2 inch squares, its personal preference. Add tuna to a bowl mix to coat and marinate for a min of 1 hour and a max of 24 hours.
Serve with pickled onions and sriracha mayo. For the onions, shave the onions into half-moons and add 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar. Mix and let soak for a minimum of 15 min. For the sriracha mayo, you can purchase this, or you can make your own by mixing 1 cup of mayo with 1-3 teaspoons of sriracha, depending on how spicy you like it.
